[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I chanced across this lone majestic tree southwest of Lawrence, Kansas. Three quaters of the tree was dead but the other one quater was still fighting the good fight. Although its hard to tell with the backlight the living portion was blazing a beautiful golden yellow. I felt honored that this tenacious tree shared it's beauty and spirit with me as it steadfastly refused to perish.

It gives me a sad feeling this shot, but it's so wonderful with it's lights and shadows, and this beautiful subject in the midlle of the fall colors.
