So Very Happy

During our vacation in France we past the date of the 14th of July. Should be a big event in France but we did not see much of that except some fireworks late at night.

That day we went to Autun, one of the larger cities in this region to see the activity because of the 14th of july. It was just a normal day, shops were open, a very few extra national flags and that was it? Still just another nice warm day in the Bourgogne.

Lucky enough for Thibault there was this colorfull thing. Happy music, flashing lights and lots of movement. We decided to let Thibault have a go, for the very first time in his life. He enjoyed it very very much, turning the wheel like he had been driving for years and a smile that reached from his left ear all the way to his right ear...

And we, we stood there, watching, our hart filled with so much joy to see him smiling like this. He was so intence happy and enjoyed it a lot.

And we, we had, again, such a very precious moment we shall never forget! Thank you Thibault, for sharing this with us.

Enjoy this moment too my friends,
Richard, Marijke and Thibault

Technical aspects:
It has rotating with more speed than it looked. We had to take several shots to get it right, there are also other rotating objects you know and some of them block the composed view and some could knock you over easily.

Postprocessing: PhotoShop, a little levels, curves and color balance to color and lighten things up. Blurred the background a bit, made it a little darker and used Neat image to soften things up because of the dust and some dirt. Finally a little diffuse glow to enhance that magic moment. Framed and downsized it to 800px and finally a bit unsharp mask to resharpen some details.

Conditions: Noon, so it was very warm. The only wind would come from something moving. I had to reposition untill the light was right, I did not want very hard shadows because of the sun but I still wanted that glossy reflection on the brass. Finally I got it right!

My Goal: I try to capture the special moments in his life. Things that he's doing for the first time, now this one will join that collection of precious moments, on film and in my heart....

Lovely joyfull moment, isn't it my friends?
See you again, Richard

Hey, he hasn't got a driver's licence yet but you let him drive the fire truck, Richard ??
Excellent portrait, the joy drips out of the shot.
They grow up so fast, don't you agree ?

hallo Richard, fantastische foto van Thibault. Misschien juist het 'a louer' bordje boven links weg klonen ?

Hopelijk gaat alles goed met jullie,

Marleen

Hello Richard!

Cute post and beautiful note to go with it.
Thanks for sharing this lovely moment with us. Great souvenir of your vacation. Thibault is not yet very confortable at the Wheel.... (^_^) . But he will gain confidence rapidly , I am sure .
Cheers!
Robert

Thibault looks like he is a professional on the fire truck. Good moment to keep forever. Well done on the composition and lighting.
