Dwarsgracht is a small village in the central eastern part of The Netherlands. It is all surrounded by water and the usual transportation from one place to another is with a boat. The houses here are with the typical camel-hump roofs made of reed, which is an old tradition handed down from father to son.

I agree it does look like an painting from a great dutch master. Beautiful scene and very nice POV. The light cast a wonderful mood over the scenery and gives it a special mood. Very well composed landscape.
