Yangshuo the remembrance …

Today I’m not in a good mood, I’ve had to definitely say goodbye to my best colleague Paul, who past away last Monday after fighting five years against cancer.

Just to express my self I composed a poem which I recite today at his cremation ceremony:

Paul

Thinking at him
You can feel his warmness
Experience his passion
His fear he pushed away
Life and dead are together
You want to ignore
But the truth is there
What stays is the remembrance…

What has it to do with the shown picture. Not more than the feeling to be in wonderful green places like here in Yangshuo. The mountains in the background, which are my suggestion of ‘far away’. “I can’t see you because you are behind the hills”. The young little crispy green rice plants are the exposure of new life!

Just a nice remembrance!

Nice scenary has been captured in this frame. Rice fields, mountains and a hand pump; rice needs a lot of water and this hand pumps is not suffcient for this crop..... perhaps it is for the need of farmer´s house - is it?

Thus, a charming perspective of course. Thanks for sharing such an attractive shot.

Hello, Hans,
I am sorry for the loss of your friend. Your photo and the perception of the mountains and nature is a very good way to remember him.

I'm so sorry about your friend Hans. I lost my friend Carol to cancer last January. Up until the end, I was sure that she would beat the disease. But she was put in hospice suddenly and that was it. Your photos are awesome! I would love to see this place someday!
B-)
God Bless You!
Linda

Hans, like my dad said before he died, "I am just over the horizon!" He was a sailor, and I can understand what you are meaning here, "Behind the hills.”
My deep sorrow for you at the loss of your friend, and especially with what he has gone through over the last 5 years.
No points at this time, but my best regards,
Janice

Your photo is very evocative of the sad circumstances. It carry out further the glance that the horizon. I see these mountains like beautiful monuments to the memory of your friend. And I am sure that he would like that you take care of you!

I like the excess of this landscape where the small seedling of rice is the neighbor at the same time of also strong mountains. It is the paradox of life! Bravo and thank you for sharing! Annie

Only minor thing. IMHVHO it was not necessary to push the greens that much. IMHVHO ? In my honest and very humble opinion (^_^).

Hoi Hans,

Keep your memories
Cherish them ... like your memories of this beautiful place.

Losing someone so dear and near to you leaves nasty scars...
Morn your friend, but remember every good thing!
And tomorrow... smile again!

Beautiful and peaceful landscape with excellent composition!

ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS IMAGE .............. BOBAN.

Hi Hans, A fine composition with a tricky sky to deal with. The details of the hand pump in the foreground and the world class scenery beyond is a wonderful scene, as good as any. TFS. Murray.
