PLease give me a kiss so I can turn from this frowning frog to a smiling prince...lol.

I was out looking for some birds and came across a little pond that had some frogs in it. This little frog seem to co-operate and let me take some pictures of him although he didn't seem to be too happy about it...lol.

Green Frog - Rana clamitans
The green frog looks something like a small bullfrog, with two parallel ridges or folds along its back. It can range in color from green or bronze to olive-brown (although blue specimens have been found), with a white underside and dark blotches on the back. Some males have bright yellow throats, and their tympanums are larger than those of females.

It's common for the green frog's mating period to extend from early spring to late August, with intense periods of mating during May and June. Although by habit both sexes are nocturnal, solitary, shy animals, males defend their territories actively at the edges of ponds and streams, and may physically or vocally attack intruders. A first mating takes place when the frog is usually between the age of 1 and 2 years. Females lay clutches of about 3,000 eggs in a filmy clump that floats on the water's surface. After fertilization, larvae take several months to hatch and transform into tadpoles and mature frogs, but some may overwinter if their habitat is a permanent body of water, not a ditch or puddle.

The smile of this little green pricess (or prince) in disguise is quite atractive as you captured it.

I remember watching a rendition of The Frog Prince with Helen Hunt, this image really clicks together with the flik. The details and focus in your image is wonderful, and the note is very well thought-out. Good framing, and an effective use of the space. In all I think this makes for a great first post, and the title is just great. :)

How nice of the frog to pose for you. You did well with a subject who was none too happy. Excellent sharpness and framing. Nice work!

Hi Lee, nice shot. I used to catch these guys and keep them as pets when I was a young boy. (I never kissed them, though :-)) I like the colours and the focus on the eyes. However, I think you should have used a smaller aperture to get more of the shot in focus. Nice one.

I love frogs, mainly because they are a good indication of how the environment is and another because they look so cute. Not cute enough to kiss though. Your image of this one is just fantastic I am amazed that you could capture in its natural surrounding and for it to stay so still. So close and so perfect. Wow, I'm impressed.
