Another submission to my DEE-saturation series:

This is my father, a man of many hats. If there is anyone in the world that I am more like, it's my Dad. We finish each other's sentences. We share the same insane passion for building things. Our personalities are so alike that my mother spends most of her time exasperated at the both of us. I laugh when I think of my mother twirling her hand around her ear and saying "Cuckoo, cuckoo!" when Daddy is on one of his "lectures". My parents have been married 52 years, so she gets away with it!

My father is the type of guy who can do anything. He is never depressed, never gives up. Every problem has a solution, so let's get to it. His favorite saying is "Have patience, or you will become one (patient in a hospital)" HAHAHA! For those who do not understand the double entendre' it means "shut up or I'll beat you" HAHAHA! He is a man of EXTREME patience.
My favorite story of him is when we were sitting at the lake and I was a teenager, begging him to let me do something. He said, "NO" and that was IT!.....so I kept badgering him...he never moved....So I picked up acorns off the ground and one by one I pegged him. It took 102 ACORNS for him to finally jump up and chase me off! HAHAHA! Hope you like it!

I desaturated everything, and then popped in the color of the hat!

Ha! You have a wonderful relationship with your father and looking at the picture it confirms he is a very determined man. Great cropping of the hat and jacket to focus on his face, and I like the POV that gives an angled profile. I actually like how you desaturated the photo. Thanks for sharing the photo and the great story!
-Lara

Shogun

Excellent portrait, great details and clarity. Nice colours. Your father seems not so patient, at least in this photo. But you know better.
Very good.
