Hi Michael,
First things first, for shots that are only going to be displayed on screen and especially relatively small in size shots, there's nothing wrong with a 2Mp camera.

The black and white tones suit this shot perfectly, they really enhance the moment, especially with the hazy / soft background.

They say timing is everything in photogrpahy. You certainly got this shot on the button! Just as the kiss was going on the cheek and when she was looking right down the lens with the cheeky smile.
