[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
When we take those nature shots we like to get that perfect pose, angle and surroundings, but I like to capture the different aspects and habits of their life. The day I got this one my intentions were to sit there and wait to get that. Sorry about the lack of ss and aperature, this was back in the summer and I don't have that data now.

Ducks and are waterfowl, birds normally found near bodies of water. In nature, ducks can live to be 12 years old.
When we think of ducks, the first things that come to mind are their signature waddle and the "quack-quack" sound they use to communicate. Ducks waddle because they have webbed feet, which act like paddles when they are in the water. Their feet lack nerves and blood vessels, so even in icy water a duck cannot feel the cold.

As for their quacking, scientists in Great Britain recently found that, like humans, ducks have regional accents. City ducks were found to have a "shouting" quack to compensate for the noise of the city, while country ducks have softer voices.

When a friend tells you to stop worrying about something, she may encourage you to "let it roll like water off a duck's back." Indeed, a duck's outer layer of feathers is made waterproof from oil produced by a gland near the bird's tail. Underneath the waterproof layer is a layer of soft, fluffy feathers that keeps the duck warm. Ducks like to keep themselves and their nests clean, and can frequently be seen preening their feathers with their bills.

Look forward to you're responce.

Good timing Lee it was a different duck shot to the norm! nice writeup good to see you are still submitting photos best rgds Necip.

Hi Lee
I applaud you for trying something different. The subject has some detail but some of the deatil may have been lost due to the birds movement. TFS
Mike

Wow, thankyou for that interesting background information on ducks....
And hilarious title for the photo with the subject in the center and good cropping (in this case the centering of the subject suits the theme and feel of the photo). Good use of lighting and great water ripples around the duck. Nice frame too. TFS!

Hi Lee
Nice action shot beautiful framing and great reflection in water.
Well done and keep it up.
My best wishes are always with you.
Regards,
M. Latif.

What difficult to see news photos from you Lee! but here is the another one :-)
Nice effect in the water and the light is superb, maybe the a lot curves in water is a bit distractive over the duck, but is a great shot, and very good pose of your "model" ;-)

Hello Lee,
I saw many ducks grooming like this and every time, I thought that it was so nice to see. You captured this moment very well. Details and lightning are good. I just wish that you were a little closer or could you have cropped a little closer? This is still a very nice picture ;) Thanks,
Claudine
