The Grand Trunk road now known as a National Highway was built by Sher Shah Suri many centuries ago to connect Lahore with Calcutta (now Kolkata) subsequent era of development has seen this road transform into the lifeline of road transport in the country. These are other modes of transport can be seen on the road everyday.

Very interesting and beautifully composed image aadiil. The trail of riders between the avenue of trees and fading into the distance. Including the tree on the right completes the framing of the picture. TFS. Regards, Pat.

This Buffalo Cart is called "Gadda" here in our Punjab. What is called in your area?

Posted a wrokshop, hope you like it.

Jamshaid

Good placement of the repetitive elements of the oxen & carts on a diagonal axis, with superb sharpness, in this outstanding daily life scene. Tfs!

A beautiful capture of the bio-powered transport. It feels like a morning shot of winter because of such haze is the common phenomena of Indo-Pak plains. Very nice shooting brother.

Thanks for sharing this image.

P.S: The GT Road starts from Pehsawar, Pakistan and ends at Sonargaon, Bangladesh. However, its major portion is in India which is from Wahga to Kolkata and known as NH-2. In my country it is N-1, I dont know its Bangladeshi identifier.

Hi aadilj,

Wonderful and very interesting photo. I like these oxen carts very much. They are so typical of India. In South india the oxen had their horns painted.
