[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Global warming has altered our climate so much that here in England we no longer get winter snows that once caused great drifts and picturesque bleak landscapes. Instead, and only every now and then, a blanket of freezing fog clings to every living and manmade object.

Dangerous in its extreme the frost, as in December just gone, caused widespread damage to watermains and hazardrous icy patches on roads where visibility was often 10 meters or less.

Without the annual snow, winter photography can be quite bland and I don't often find moments where my camera is out for anything more than a shot or two in any week.

Being still a relative learner to photography I took numerous shots on this day but only emerging with this image as being possibly good enough... a lane that seemed to end abruptly on the brow of a hill as the fog obscured the view from sight .

I hope my photography is improving by being critical of my attempts, but it's not always easy to discern from what is good in my amateur eyes and those of the more experienced photographer. Learning is slow.

Hi Celina.
Amazing photo. Great atmosphere. Good work. tfs. Stev

I agree, you have taken an ordinary scene and made it into a beautiful vision.
Nice POV. Nice use of nature to frame the image.
I especially like the tree branches at the top of image and the patterns they have made. TFS Tracey

Hi Celina,
I like the way the mist slowly invades the landscape, hiding what is beyond the fence. Well done!
Mary

I think that you created a good shot with this one,we are left wondering what may appear when the fog clears.
I like the framing of the fog by the trees and bushes;at first I thought that it was b/w but as I looked more carefully I began to see the colour.Like it a lot.
Regards Jean.

Lovely winter picture, even without snow. Excelent mysteriously mood, I like the compo.

I just love fog shots. Bill

I love frosty scenes, and this is one of them. Good composition with the tree on the right framing the scene. Global warming has also hit Canada. Although we have snow it isn't half as deep as it normal is for this time of the year.

Hi there!
You have created a beautiful dream-like effect here. The handling of the difficult light conditions is also very good. This looks like a pic that should be on the cover of a novel!
Well done!

Hi Celina,
I haven't been following your journey of learning, but I know this photo immediatly caught my attention when I went to your gallery...not much to improve on here for sure. This is very well done. The fog/frost combo, along with your composition and POV has made for an excellant, moody, mystical photo. Very well seen and captured. Keep up this good work Celina!

Lyndon

Beautiful aura of mystery, very good composition
