[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here is a shot of a Red Tailed Hawk also known as Bueto jamaicensis. To learn more about this hawk see my notes from my previous post Red Tailed Hawk - Buteo jamaicensis
This shot was shortly after I took yesterdays post, the hawks and other raptors are very leery of people, apparently getting their photo taken also. When you see one they are rather plain looking unless you see one close or with their wings spread, then I think they are very pretty. They are helpful to people in that they keep the varmint population down in the many crops we have growing in our area. They will also eat small farm animals also, so not all people see them as an asset. During the day you can find them flying around the fields hunting and also perched atop power poles watching for prey.
PP was levels since the hawk was back lit, upped saturation since levels took out some color, cropped to remove power line, slight frame and Neat Image since I had some noise.
Feedback is appreciated.

Woohoo! You nailed this one Dayna! I love the detail in the feathers, your composition and the bright blue backdrop. I especially like the backlighting on the tailfeathers, and the hint of motion blur around the tips of its wings. Your patience with these incredible birds paid off. Great job! :-)
