[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken with the 300 mm zoom down in Monaro country in south eastern New South Wales.
Many of the wild birds in the area will happily accept a feed from us because they are finding it very hard in the prolonged drought.
This bird is the female of the species which inhabit the eastern coast from the far north of Australia to the furtherest southern parts of Victoria.
The male has a wonderful scarlett coloured head and breast whilst the female is generally a subdued green.
They feed on fruits and berries and breed up between October and January.
Resized for Trek Lens using PS Elements 2 but other wise no additional PP work.

Hello Robert my friend. Just about at the limit of the zoom I feel. A lovely portrait showing the true colour of the parrot. I was out and about the other eveing and actually saw a flock of rainbow lorikeets, my first sighting of a flcok of parrots down here. Well done once again on the no PP work and TFS,
David
