Another in the Suzanne series. We both loved the look of the old photos where the lighting was dramatic and there was a wisp of smoke coming from the held cigarette...but....we both are allergic to cigarette smoke so we couldnt light it!! So we had to settle for just holding it....

This is a great photo. I liked your portraits but this move to a wider view of your models is a great step forward. I love the comp. and the lighting. Thanks for sharing!

I like the strong composition, the shallow depth of field, and the contrasts and strong lighting. Good balance between the dark glove and her dark hair, and long eyelashes! Nice horizontal framing and compo and this is perfect in black and white. Maybe I would darken the shot just slightly since there is a lack of tonality in her face. But really awesome shot and I love the idea, I'd be curious to see the shot with her looking at the camera, which I think would make the photo more intense and movie-like. TFS!

Hi Sophia,

Ah yes these images are always nice... you could have photoshopped in the wisp, but that's hardly a big deal. The model looks fantastic, very deumre expression... and the lighting (which, you mentioned) is rather dramatic, adds a soft flare to her skin, and that nice glow to her curles. Wonderful DOF... and just, perfectly composed. TFS.

Biance.
