Strelitzia, believe that everybody finds this beautiful flower, at exotic least! A lot of pictures of her exist here and in other places quiz to detach his/her center. I think it was beautiful. What did you find?
Data:
"She is considered to flower-symbol of Los Angeles: it is the strelitzia ‚a colored flower and of long duration, whose format reminds a lively and colored bird.

Popularly, she is knowner as "bird-pity-paradise", in spite of also receiving other names, depending on the area, but his/her botanical name is Strelitzia reginae. As it is known, the name 'strelitzia' it was chosen in honor to the queen Charlotte Sophia, duchess of Mecklenburg Strelitz and the king's wife George III, of England.

In the gardens, the strelitzia makes a lot of success, forming good-looking solid on the lawns, but it is in the composition of arrangements and floral decorations that she shows his/her largest glory: their flowers, beautiful women and exotic, they give a durability show, color and versatility.

Relative close of the helicônia and of the banana tree, the strelitzia presents exuberant foliage, of coloration green-darkness, that it contrasts with the central ribs of the leaves, of red tone. Already the flowers, a true artistic work of the nature, they are protected by a bráctea, in boat form, with colorations that vary from the red to the blue-violet. The six petals of the flowers form two groups of three: the external ones are lightly lanceoladas and of orange color and, the more internal three possess the format of an arrow and they present tones of blue-metallic.

The result is an effect exotic, elegant and extremely beautiful, that he/she has his/her objective: the nature creates these compositions in ways and colors, in an effort to attract agents polinizadores and, in this case, they are the hummingbirds the most frequent visitors, in search of the nectar of the strelitzia."

Thank you!
Thank you for the visit and for the critic!

Está simplesmente perfeita! As cores, composição, detalhes...
Thanks Ana:)

Dear Jose - Your strelitzia macro was on the home page today. I find them hard to photograph in an interesting way, so I am admiring your beautiful macro of a section of this flower. What a good idea! Razor-sharp and just enough ta make one recognize what it is. Well done! TFS! - Cheers, Cordelia :)
