Sad and lonely !!
look at those lights, it makes this lake feels more lonely, there are some where far from here with lights and noise and crowd, but here is just silence because this lake is alone, hide behind the fog so everybody forget its existence.

Very bleak indeed. Great idea, very neat and simple, I like the subtle contrasts to give it a placid, melancholy feel, and good tones. Excellent gradient of light and shade and color on the water's surface, and great composition with the emerging rock/thing near the bottom corner, leading the eye up through the rest of the photo. To really emphasize the emptiness and bleakness, I would clone out the soft horizon of mountains and city lights in the upper half to make the distinction between the water and sky nil. Really beautiful and great vertical cropping. TFS!
