Deuxième photo de ma balade à travers les jardins ouvriers de Tubize. Quand je suis arrivé, une dame âgée s’en allait. J’eus une petite conversation avec le seul jardinier encore à l’ouvrage. Je lui ai demandé gentiment si je pouvais le photographier. Il a répondu non - gentiment, lui aussi. Je me suis alors tourné vers quelqu’un d’autre… Celui-ci, au moins, n’a pas refusé.

Tweede foto van mijn wandelingetje door de volkstuinen van Tubize (Tubeke). Toen ik er aankwam, keerde een oudere dame net huiswaarts. Ik had een kort gesprekje met de enige andere tuinier die nog aan het werk was. Ik vroeg vriendelijk of ik hem mocht fotograferen. Hij weigerde – eveneens vriendelijk. Dan maar op zoek naar een andere tuinier… Deze hier had in elk geval geen bezwaar.

Second picture of my stroll in the allotment gardens of Tubize. When I arrived, an elderly lady just went home. I had a short conversation with the only gardener still working. I asked him in a friendly way if he did’t mind me taking a picture of him. He refused – in a friendly way as well. So I had to look for another gardener. This one, at least, did’nt mind.

[taken with a Nikon D70, just resized, I preferred not to change the colours - it was a dull day]

hehehe yes people can be rather touchy about taking their photo, I'm a bit cheeky because I often shoot from the hip before asking questions (an old cowboy term that "shoot from the hip" means if you want a shot and fear that perhaps the people won't like it, don't bring the camera to your eye, just hold her steady, guess the frame and while even talking to them (best to have a quiet shutter for this to work effectively) press the shutter button... hehehe

Typisch scenek met dien kabouter. De ene laat zich wel trekken en de ander niet - zo gaat dat.
Een 'hipshot' geeft toch wel heel ander resultaat dan een gevraagd portretteke.

Bonjour le polyglote... C'est une photo très amusante, ces nains de jardins qui restent toujours populaires dans nos contrées... Celui-ci a vraiment une bonne bouille, avec son nez retroussé !
