[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
With a view like this, I don't think many would mind not having a roof. Except the reality is that this was taken on a rather dull, overcast, freezing, snowy day this past weekend. This is my first real experiment with layers to create a new image. (I will post the original to WS).

This photo came about as a result of a photo Trek that WTS and I took around Orangeville (just north of Toronto) on Saturday. This was our first meeting and we will likely be getting together to have another photo Trek in the near future and would welcome any other TLers in the Greater Toronto Area to join us (date and location yet to be determined).

To achieve this image, I created a copy of the original background photo (the one in WS) and then corrected for vertical lens distortion. I used the magnetic lasso to cut out the window and selected the inverse and then added a new layer via cut. I repeated the same process for the sky. I then added a photo I had taken of the sky on Valentine's Day and used it as the new background. Flattened the image then removed all the snow from the photo. Sharpened the image, framed and sized for TL.

I hope you like the photo.
Cheers, Todd

Hi Todd
At first I wondered if this was the same day, but your notes cleared that up for me.
I really like your perspective on this, I had not thought of doing that. The work done on layering really adds to this photo.

Hi Todd,
I love photos of ruins and this one is exceptional. I am impressed with the work you have done with the layering. I haven't attempted that one yet. The sky you have chosen looks much more inviting then the original. Excellent.
Cheers,
Debbie

I must say that your PP work is so good that I'd never have guessed that you made such serious changes to the sky (other than that I knew what the weather was like in Orangeville on March 3 (^o^)!
superb composition, fantastic colours and details and truly amazing PP work -- you deserve more than just 2 points!!

Well in Winter and if you have a cold like me in this moment I believe a roof and a window, not Vista, not XP... a real window... would be very appreciate.
But... for the photo aspect i would say i like that me too :) It's well cropped...
Lol even the window and the wall.... Need some isolating stuff between :)

Hi Todd,
