[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
this is a photo taken while i was strolling along in town, across the busy roads, i noticed this sad sight.

in my mind, i wonder if she is lost...or if she has lost it all....have u ever feel out of place? like the whole world is moving at a pace you can never catch up no matter how hard you tried? reality is harsh....and to some, accepting reality is even worst than reality itself....here i am, again, lost at words...hope you get my point.

this sight makes me think a lot about how hard the people in olden days struggled to survive, to bring up their children....and yet, when they are not capable anymore, how small and left out they feel....it upsets me to think of the many things and people we take for granted in life...

the photo quality is not very good...i zoomed in from across the street. just wish to convey a note, to be thankful and grateful for all we have, to love those around us....it's never too late to start...this is for the chinese new year...happy chinese new year to all!

pp work, soften and adjusted hue to lighten the noise, added frame.

hope u like it.

I believe this image and your note work very well together, Eleen. You used an excellent composition, and by chance (?) the shoe on the lowest step seems to be floating in the air. TFS.
Happy Chinese New Year!

c'est super beau, le noir et blanc un peu flou est tres bien vue! belle personne!!!

Parents blame the children when they're neglected. But sometimes it's the parent's own fault for setting unrealistic expectations and keep on comparing their own children with other childrens who are more sucessful/smarter/wealthy.

This picture has good composition and the PP work is nice yet not overdone. Well done eleen, see you in JB next weekend! (Yeah I'm going to Skudai :P )

Good composition placing the lady in the corner, and including the fallen show. It is sad sometimes to see people like this. You did a fine job on the softening. Very nice work.

A very strong picture Eleen. I think the quality of a photograph is not only technics. Here we must reflected about so many levels! Thanks you for sharing the Univers of this lady!

Wonderful capture. The photo is fine becuase of what was captured and along with the note. I can see myself sitting down on the steps next to her and trying to console her or asking her the depths of her thoughts. Just when you think you have caught up with reality it has shifted to another level.
You have touched my soul with this photo.

Hopelessness and loneliness are transmitted by this image, it looks good after the pp, the lack of acuity and small details match the general atmosphere.

bonsoir eleen.
Je pensais pas voir de tes photos avant un certain temps, je suis heureusement surpris.
Reflection pour tous est une belle photo et le flou est judicieux au moins pour moi qui lit cette photo à ma façon.

good evening eleen.
I did not think of seeing your photographs before a certain time, I am fortunately surprised. Reflection for all is a beautiful photograph and the blur is judicious at least for me which reads this photograph with my way. Friendship jp

Softness of the photo is in harmony with the composition...Lighting is good enough to see the photo like dream...

Excellent work...

Very nice mood and story adds a lot to the piece. Excellent social commentary - hope you have fun at home and have fun w/ Chinese New Year.

Wonderfull photo and post process Eleen. It has a dreamy quality over it but yet you feel lonliness when looking at it. As if she is really not in this world, a ghost... Yes, we do take so much for granted. Sometimes it is good to stop, think and reflect.

I like how you treath this piecture. It's expressive... Not sadeness... but we want to know her interrogation. Great!

In at least many countries, the eldely were respected, held in a high position of th ehouse hold. That is why I loved Asia, they do not throw away the old...... I saw my father work hard all his life, then become an old man of no value in American soceity...... Now in Asia, things are changing, and not always for the good....

Strong image & strong note! But I don't agree with you when you say that the quality of the photo is not very good. It's well composed and the soft hue gives it life. Good work!! And happy new year to you :-)
ops! I am out of points, sorry :-(

Eleen, this brought tears to my eyes....she looks so lonely and forlorn, you definitely succeeded in capturing 'emotion' with this one - the work of a master, well done!

Ta photo est travaillée avec beaucoup de sensibilité et de douceur, Eleen. Que d'histoire à s'imaginer quand on pose les yeux sur cette vieille dame... Amitiés, Patty.

Hi Eleen
great capture and post process of a sad situation... so much feelings in your pic ...
Good work
Regards, Hugues

Very touching photo and note. I like the softness you added in PP, as well as the composition. She looks so small. I wonder what she is thinking about??

In viewing this poignant composition I am reminded of the saddest poem that was found written by and old helpless woman who died alone in a nursing home. It is entitled "Who Do You See"...a sort of memoir of what the beautiful years of her life were like compared to the old helpless person she appeared to be. Your photo is sad and I want to comfort her. your words are heartfelt....:O)

Hi Eleen, this is a masterwork.

It looks like that old lady is going into a superiour state of consiousness regardless of material things going around her. But isn't that wisdom ? Il like the blurry aspect of your picture it makes every thing seem more spiritual...

The soft edge makes this picture. It adds a touch of sympathy to the lady & the event. Great capture.

This one ... just another page of your diary, your biography. The more I look into your work the more i get to know the artist and the person, and the more amazed and puzzled I get.

It is a precious capture of a deep contemplation on "how did I came here" and "what am i doing" ending in "how would it all end". Rare are the photos that I feel deep inside me. This is one of them.

You are a poet speaking through your camera.

Very strong image. Great choice for B&W and composition.

Thanks,

Andre Frota

Echo all of the above.

Ben.

Hi Eleen
So well done, Eleen. I like the creative way in which you improved and framed this expressive image taken from across the street. Good note, too.
Cordelia
PS: One of your photos was on the TL homepage today. That's how I came across you.

The worth of a photo for me is the emotion it evokes. This one is priceless! You can feel her despair, lonliness, hopelessness. This is an excellent example of good photo-journalism.

This is an other very good work. Yes I like your idea to make this result with PP.
Really great.
