Howdy,

So... what you see here is a "window" in a wall of one of the galleries in Trinity College, Cambridge.
Peaking through you can see the river Cam, on which the boats, known as "punts" take tourists for a slow "ride" along all the university buildings.
A lovely way to pass a bit of time in Cambridge, especially in summer!

I just sharpend it a bit and cropped the image.

Hope you like this!
Cheers,
Anneke

Lovely exposure control, great shot Anneke.

Best wishes Mark :)

Well taken but I think a b&w or sepia variant was better.

hola,

Excellent light and pretty composition,

cristina

Hi Anneke,
The first impresion is: "the lighting", wonderful my dear! The dark surrounding makes an natural frame and my view is foscused on the lovely scene behind the gate. Well seen and the green colours look great here (hardly to imagine this picture is taken in winter! A pitty the person in the red sweater isn't fully visible but anyway this is an excellent posting!
Top Job!
Hans

Incredible mood captured and I love the use of lighting here. Nice warm tones and soft contrasts, beautiful elements all-around, with that lovely willow tree emerging into the window scene and the pond, and the rough wall and wrought iron in the foreground. It's so peaceful, I would love to sit and study here ;). Nice vertical composition that draws focus to the subject, although I would make the shot more balanced by cropping a bit off the right edge. Really beautiful, TFS!

Excellent use of light, Good work

Hi Anneke,
Lovely image! I like the darkness of the window framing the lovely view. The willow and the green grass are lovely. Good control of the lighting, well done and TFS
Cheers Tina :-)

Hi, this is an imaginative shot. You have good composition, the dark wrought iron window looking out onto the weeping willow at the riverside. Incidentally, my son took me punting on the river Cam - it was the most frightening experience of my life!!!!! Not for the faint hearted, you need an experienced hand to punt. Regards, Jean

Excelent composition, plenty of details.
I love the light. TFS

Hoi Anneke,

Indeed a great picture. I don't think a B&W version would be better, because the golden light would be gone then.
Maybe you could create a tunnel-effect by giving the surroundings a little bit more light, so one get pulled into the scenery.
Greetings from Joop

Anneke wat een mooie beheersing van licht.
Zowel binnen als buiten is de scherpte geweldig

Hi Anneke
Very good image. Not the usual view of Trinity College. Well seen and catpured. I like the shadow of the window grill. Though too much black round the image for my taste. I like the view through the window. Well done.
Mike

I love the view and the composition. Nice to see the shadows of the window rails on the wall. Well done with the exosure and sharpness.

Hello Anneke

I love your view of Cambridge. The window is well composed with beautiful lighting. The view outside tells a story .TFS

Bonjour Anneke,
Un peu de charme anglais au travers cette photo...
J'aime beaucoup le jeu d'ombre avec la grille, elle tombe parfaitement sur le mur.

who could study there while having such a great view?! *g* excellent shot, anneke! :-)
good exposure while shooting from the dark into
the bright light showing us a beautiful green
outside world behind bars or is it the other way around?
the weeping willow is wonderful and so is the
shadow the bars cast onto the wall.
well seen & captured, thor.

I just love this one, so relaxing. The lightning is really exceptional.

Wow, what a great shot, Anneke! Lovely colours and shadows and perfectly exposed. Well done.

I can imagine it as a live and natural "framing portrait". The artistic wall frame gave a contrast to the beauty scenery.Quite impressive.
