[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is my Nana (Gran, Grandmother)

She's 84 years old (85 in May)

Yesterday she got home from hospital, where she's spent most of the year due to various illnesses.

She's the much loved head of our family and she has one daughter, four grandchildren (I'm the oldest) - eight great grand children (with another on the way) and one great, great grand child.

If it wasn't for your granny where would you be?

Hope you like the photo. Taken with new camera Panasonic FZ50.

Hi Sandy and late welcome to TL
I really like you photo for several reasons, one it shows us something about you and how people matter.
second its not a "beauty" shot,
Very well done and nice facial detail with clarity of the eyes. Light is abit strong coming in from the left, but I think that is direct sunlight.
Enjoy your new camera and TL

Beautiful pose, lovely lady! A bit over-exposed because of the light from the window. I did a WS for you...just playing with the tones!
B-)
Linda

Hi Sandy,
This actually reminded me of my own grandmother when I looked at the picture. The beautiful, kind eyes that will care for you no matter what. I don't think it is overexposed, I think you did a nice job for the conditions of the light. She has a beautiful face and smile also. Great job!
Thanks for sharing,
Leanne

What a wonderful portrait of your beautiful mother. The sparkle in her eyes is lovely. Great composition and natural lighting.

a touching picture, she looks lovely and happy to see you. a little overexposed but it doesn't bother because all the atention go's to her friendly face. tfs Joke

Dear Sandy,

This is a wonderful shot. And Linda has improved the lighting with her workshop too. Just a great picture of a lovely elderly lady with an adoring smile for the photographer!

Cheers,

John.

Hi again, Sandy - Very good, expressive portrait of your beloved Nana. May she become healthier again!
Shadows well handled, the lighter section a bit OE. Nevertheless, I like it. Well done! TFS! - Cordelia :)

Hello sandy your granny looks very nice, and her picture all the best.

Hello Sandy !
Stunning eyes!! Great and beautiful telling the whole story!!
That is very important that kind of shots ..every moment is very precious cos our live time is so limited!!

Touching portrait. I like it, in spite of the harsh light.
