Johannes No 2

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Johannes No 2 works at a steel supplier. He is called "Johannes No 2" because the other Johannes working there is older than him. Johannes had just finished cutting a lot of steel pipes with an angle grinder. The darkness of the workshop and the effort on his face seemed to make an interesting picture. I hand-held the camera and used the natural light. No flash.
I lightened the picture a small amount and cropped a bit off the sides using Paintshop Pro X.

Wonderful lighting, this is a great portrait. You have captured the skin tones well, the background and his clothes make a great monochrome image. It is also good photojournalism - the note explains a lot but there is a lot you have told us just with the image without the words. A tighter crop in on the right would have placed him a bit off centre and perhaps made for a stronger image.
Well done
Karen

Hi Irmgard - you have taken a good photos of Johannes No 2, and I agree with Karen's comments and about off-centring him.
You have captured him really well
Janice
