[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Oil seed rape(Brassica napus) is widely grown as a source of oil which is used in animal feeds, edible oils and for the manufacture of biodiesel fuel.

At this time of year, the vivid yellow of the fields of this crop dominates the English countryside.

As well as their oil producing value, the flowers are very attractive to bees which can gather the nectar for the production of honey.

Oh yeah Peter, also in Czech Republic is yellow everywhere now. Itīs not normal, it blooms very early this year probably due to no winter...yeah global warming is comming.
Back to the shot, I like the POV and the simple framing fits well.

Hi Peter, this is a good perspective and very clear shot giving good detail of the flowers. As you say the English countryside looks beautiful at this time of year with fields of these beautiful flowers, they are a sight to behold. regards, Jean

Rape seed plants are beautiful. Here in Canada we see a lot of them. Big fields of yellow. You photo is different from what I have seen in the past. Great point of view. Good job!

Hello, Peter.

How can this have been on this site for over a year and I have not seen it?

This puts my recent efforts to shame.

A superb depiction of a field of oilseed rape, with fabulous colours - the blue of the sky and the yellow of the flowers are, of course, complementary and really work very well here.

Superb sharpness and detail too.

Excellent!

Best Wishes,

John.
