[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Back to the woods--walking along, I was surprised to see these dragon-backed plants rising up. They seem so different from the graceful plants that they settle into. I had forgotten that I had taken this one until I saw Marek's shot.

PP work--cropped, decreased midtones(-47) to keep the background from appearing too busy; framed, resized, and sharpened for TL. I realize there is overexposure on the fuzzies--I must learn to meter.

hi karen, excellent shot, the backlighting is great, i like how the composition has the light hitting the ferns in the thirds of the image, really well done, cheers, scott

Hi Karen,
You did very well with the lighting here in this shot the harsh contrast makes it an interesting picture. Also the frame is superb.

Hello Karen,
Wonderful lighting and colours of your spring posting.Very good work.
Best wishes.
Eva

Good manage of the light but the background looks busy; you should use a larger aperture for a blurred one and higher speed.

Good work. I like the overexposure because it is something one commonly sees when the subject is backlit. The over-all impression is that the green plants are high-lighted by a light colored border which really works well here because of the dark background. A fine composition. I thought it would look neat in B&W too, so I did a quick workshop and it came out well.

Always wondered what these was called...cool...they do look like dragons backs. The lighting here is very special Karen, lighting them nicely from the dark bg. Very good eye for picking up on this as I would have walked right past:) Lovely image...good camera work.

Hi Karen,
Yes, they do look like dragons. Very well seeen and captured. I like the backlighting which accentuates the leaves. It has a fairytale quality. Great design. TFS. :)

Hello Karen,
Interesting effect from the strong backlight!
The green gets greener and the details really stand out...
Well framed subject!

Nice work - great low point of view and composition. I really like the use of light and shadow..very effective.

I guess the workshop didn't eventuate Karen. An excellent POV to capture the light on the new growth. Good dark background only serves to highlight the 'hairy parts. TFS,
David
