Good morning friends,

I have uploaded a picture for my dad today, he needed cheering up a bit. Yes I know flowers are not really the thing to send a man! but he loves his garden as do I and blue is his favourite colour.

This flowering shrub is growing at the bottom of my garden. I will find out later what it is called and post details. I chose blue for another reason too. Dad supports Chelsea football club and next weekend they play in the FA cup final so good luck to them too.

Anyway the little message here is even if we feel blue there are different shades of the colour and we can turn dull blue bright :-)

Have a great day my friends, its chucking it down with rain here today so I think i will be looking for some inside photographic inspiration.

TTFN Helen

P.S. After much searching I have found the name of the plant. Its CEANOTHUS which is also known as Californian Lilac. A little confusing as almost all the varieties are blue. It comes in many different shrub types, some are for gound cover some small mound shrubs and some grow to a huge size. It seems that different varieties like different soil so check the label if you buy one. Anyway I recommend one as they give an abundance of tiny flowers that look like mini lilacs and with such beautiful colours. They also stay in bloom for a good while.

Hi Helen,
Wow, perfect framing to start with :) The photo is regarding colours perfect, although the sharpnes need a bit mmore attention. Try to use a smaller aperture next time, e.g f/6.4 or higher, this will improve the photo. Anyway a great colourful posting. Keep on doing the good job!
Hans

Tech :
Compo fine, idea great, flowers a bit unsharp too me.

It's a great thought trying to " pump him up " this way.
I think your idea about " a man and flowers "
is wrong. ( a man must be strong and hard ? )
Oh well ...
