Sobre la arena del desierto, los ajies tipo páprica son secados en forma natural bajo el calor del sol. Los caminos por los que transitan los agricultores aparecen pintados en arena.

La radiación solar transforma el color naranja del ají fresco al rojo intenso del páprica.
