eros (or little otik in the womb)

| I found this monster out beach combing - it is the roots of an ancient old growth tree sticking up out of the sand. It reminded me of the Czech horror film "Little Otik." While I am usually pretty conservative with post-processing, I did a great deal of shadow burning and even some painting to get the desired effect with this one. |

Another beautiful nature abstract. Very crisp and sharp to show all the details and textures of the warped and slightly splitting wood to give the shot more impact. I like the use of the black background to make it pop out and to really emphasize the womb-like nature and form of the wood. Where did you find this wood? And is the background post-processed? Excellent framing that touches the edges to focus on what's inside the "womb" and great neutral colors. Excellent contrasts and tones too. I wish the shot was uploaded a little larger for me to really get a sense of detai. I wish there was some sort of note. By the way, what happened to all your other lovely shots that were in your gallery? Beautiful, TFS!
