hi philip, yes i know what its like having days off work and all it does is rain as i live the vancouver! in vancouver you dont tan you rust!
anyways i like this little studio shot simple yet effective, the colors are nice, this has an elegant feel to it

Beautiful! Lovely detail and light, excellent deep background and rich saturation through this shot.
Composition works well too, although I wonder how it would have looked just a little more diagonally placed, and with the point-of-origin of the ear of grain being in the lower left corner?

When we talk about a simple subject... Hard to be more simple! It please me a lot! I enjoy the color, the sharpness! I have a few of that exact color that i mix with another kind in the corner of my hall... Black paper too and i never make it... Shame on me! :) Heumm... I beleieve... I do so many things lol!
There is some variation in the detail of the black who make it good... Probably a totally black would be some... agressive for the eyes?

Hi Philip,
What a stunning image, I love the simple composition, the vibrant green over black.
At what stage did you sharpen, before or after resizing for posting? I rarely use more than .5 pixel @ 120%, otherwise I seem to get grainy results.

A very inventive photographic studio. I like the idea of the clips to hold the stems upright.
I love this minimalistic compo with such light and detail. The grass seems to be bejewelled.
