In the years 1970, Harley-Davidson evolves/moves little and is confined with its models, without changing design lasting of many years. The cost and the price become high for performances which were much lower than those of the new Japanese competitors. Nevertheless, in 1977, Harley-Davidson surprises everyone by presenting the 1000 XLCR Cafe Racer. But it will not have awaited success. A few years later, the firm will repeat with model XR 1000, directly derived from the competition, and there still, will be the commercial failure, in particular because of a prohibitory selling price for the time, more than 6000 $. In the middle of the years 1970, MFA bought the company and increased the production but this strategy involved a less quality. The sales declined and the company was about to go bankrupt. The name itself became the object of mockeries like hardly able and the title goret (hog) became affectionate than pejorative as much. MFA sold the company with a small group of investors who slowed down the production, introduced techniques of innovating productions and improved quality. Rather than to fight against the Japanese on their ground, this new direction accentuated the retro side but brought an excellent reputation to the firm. Salut Christophe
Encore un autre beau reflet chromé avec un traitement des couleurs que je trouve bien sympathique. Et j'aime bien la présence du personnage dans le reflet. De plus la note est instructive.Beau travail.
