just tried my second macro shot.
never say never! ;) see? i also have greens at home!
that cactus has been on my window for ages and today it happens to me to give it a try. the butterfly has gone also ages ago, but its nest remains.
hope you like it. comments welcome.
pp: i used a small staircase as a tripod. out of 30 macro attempts, i saved this one. I cropped, adjusted leves, sharpened. added borders, resized, saved for the web.
ps: i am glad i discovered Canon Power Shot A70 CAN make some dof. Also, i discovered one cannot aim at the subject, but 'around' it. |

Foste muito bem sucedida nesta foto! A perspectiva é muito boa e gosto da maneira como apanhaste a luz fraca no lado direito a bater suavemente no cacto!

Yes I like it as I had first to figure out what it is. Very good composition as one can think fisrt the subject is the cactus. I would personaly prefer a more discret framing...
Nice macro Isabelle.
Something I really never did.. and I am pretty old..

The light through the chrysalis is very well captured, beautiful. The cropping of the cactus is debateable, your cropping works well but it could also be like one-third in from the right side leaving only the prickles.

I liked a lot the angle you chose, and specially the overall tones that came out... very interesting combinations of colors.
Well done Isabelle, your work is very creative, I like it. You did well, one out of thirty macro shots, I normally get one out of every sixty...only joking.;-)
I like the subject and the note you have written.
Very nicely shot, well done.
I did a macro of a paper wasps nest, take a look and tell me what you think ;-))
