Hi Rob, nice capture of this couple in the middle of a moment or embrace together. The use of the shallow depth of field allows the couple to be in-focus and the background out-of-focus. Very nice rich colors and good tonalities, although I think perhaps using the burn tool just very lightly on the couple might have helped a bit because they are rather brightly and flatly lit compared to what's in the background, and even the rocks. Great framing and horizontal cropping to place the couple off-center and to draw a balance between the couple and the kayakers in the background. I also like how the point of view is low so that what we mostly see, and focus on, is the connection between the man's and the woman's faces gazing at each other, although it would have been ideal to have all of the woman's face in there by shifting yourself slightly to the left. The composition is strong and it fits the rule of thirds, and the framing at the top and bottom edges of the photo works well for this. If you look closely the kayaker at the upper left is looking curiously at you, hehe ;) Perhaps somewhat voyeuristic but I can certainly see your intention was to show us the emotional connection between the man and woman. Thanks for sharing!
