The rider and his horse
 |

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
When I entered the pony-club of Climbach, I saw nothing very interesting. Some horses eating under the trees, trying to hide from the hot sun that was burning them. They did not move, only their tails were flying from the right to the left, to chase away the flies. The games were cancelled because of the hot weather. Soooo boring...
At the end of the afternoon, when the temperatures became a little bit more bearable, there were some games. The most impressive was the barrel racing. Three barrels, and the riders had to galop around them as fast as possible. Always great to watch.
The man on this picture was very impressive. He could ride and handle his mare with just a strap of leather around her neck. And she was not just a peaceful old mare - very proud, full of energy and impulse. They were wonderful, together. I'm glad I got this picture of them, in full action.
I have made different improvemets on this picture : more sharpness, more contrast, but most of all I had to eliminate an ugly electrical wire in the BG. There was also the had of the girl standing beforeme on the picture, which I also removed. I am quite proud of the result.

Hello Valerie,
This is a great image, could be the poster for a western movie any time!
Action is well frozen, and you capture the dedication very well... both the guy's and the horse's!
Well composed presentation!

Hello Valerie,
It's been a long long time since I was last on here.
This is a great action shot. The details are perfectly sharp.
Good colours and presentation.
Thanks fo rposting, enjoy the rest of the week.
Hi Valerie
A very nice capture of this horse and rider. The horse looks spirited but by his eye you can see she is listening to the rider. Her flowing mane and shiny coat are beautiful. Excellent POV, details and lighting.
