"Bee Season"

When the temperature is rising in spring and summer is near, you see the bees coming. Little beautiful flying creatures, who are working very hard.

I watch that hard working, in my backyard. They come and go, with little balls of pollen at their legs.

As you know, I like to make macro-pictures. I'm doing that with reversed lenses. For me, almost the same quality as a macro-lens, but much more cheaper. A macro-lens is around the 450 dollar (minimum) and a reverse adapter I bought for 3 dollars at Ebay.

Now I want also make macro's of flying insects. Again a little more difficult as taking a picture of a "sitting" insect.

What I like also like of flying insects, is that you must look very good what they are doing and enter into a part of their lives. Then you see when you can make a shot or not. Sometimes they fly too fast and then it's a terrible job to make a good shot.
You must have patience. And for angling and photography, I have.

Here, the little bee is flying to one of my Passion flowers. He or she has allready gathered a lots of pollen for their honeyboard.

I hope you like this picture.

Best regards and have a nice weekend,

Don

Hi Don,
Wow, incredible macro of this flower and bee! Incredible sharpness and details in the bee and the centre of the flower, and the pollen on its legs is superb! Well done and TFS
Cheers Tina :-)
Question for you, what is a reverse adapter and how does it work with a normal lens??

Great capture Wallie, I know how difficult is to catch these insects in focus. I'd go for a tighter format, maybe square, and crop off the wilted petals on top left.

Hi Don.
What a great capture! Great composition, lots of interest in the frame and that bee is fantastic. Good colour and sharpness. Very well done.
Regards, Steve.

Prachtig Don!
