I took this shot this morning in our garden,I've read somewhere that early mornings are the best time to capture these insects as they are a bit slower.
It is an Orange Tip butterfly (Anthocaris cardamines)an attractive spring butterfly growing to between 35 to 45mm.It is widespread in Southern England and Ireland. Its range extends over Western Europe to China and Japan. One of the first Spring butterflies, seen flying close to the ground in gardens, lanes and forest paths.

You can go off some people! The orange tips around here don't sit still long enough to be photographed so well done!

Fantastic macro..well done.

Belle prise de vue Andy. La qualité de la photo est tellement bonne que j'ai envie de souffler sur la fleur de pissenlit et de caresser le papillon.
Très jolies couleurs.
Very well done.

Absolutley magnificent, well done Andy, well seen and captured with perfect detail and outstanding colour.
Great work.
