Here's an alternative view of Seattle with Mt. Rainier in the backgound. I cauught this view on my way to Kerry park to do some evening shots of the city skyline.
This is one of those views that makes you stop for a second. That was long enough for me to decide that I had to get a couple of shots.
Some people might find the foreground trees a bit obstuctive, but I like the way they frame the buildings.

Great shot Alan, well balanced, nice texture and colours. I also like the trees, used for the framing.
Everything is so straight, I suspect you used perspective correction (hence the square format). An impressive shot, thanks for sharing.

Michael.

Very much this photograph and your look at the city appeal to me. As as you said, sometimes something will see itself suddenly and it is an only view which he is enrapturing and he is worth of immortalizing. This mountain is making the beautiful background until it is a pity that one can't see it more, but here after all not mainly it concerns it... Nice you demonstrated these wonderful buildings, great one can see details, nice colours, well lighted. Trees in the foreground aren't disturbing in the receipt; I like such elements.
Wonderful work, congratulations :-)

Hi Alan
I love that your POV shows us the city AND Nature in the FG and BG...
we can see the sun on the buildings is it a sunset or rise?

Wonderful capture

very nice picture. Very well done indeed!

Nice capture, nice DOF, very precise shot. It would have been perfect without the branche on the middle left side but what a good picture ! Great job! TFS

This is a stunning view - you have quite a lot in the scene too - trees, buildings AND the SNOWY mountain!! I like the low early evening lighting too Alan - good one
Janice

This is a superb shot Alan. Crisp and sharp, expertly metered and well composed, I agree that the foliage frames the shot well, and the telephoto effect of your zoom here brings that distant mountain into stunning perspective.
Great work!

La définition, la précision et la lumière sont sublimes. Magnifique photo. Bien vu.
The definition, the precision and the light are sublime. Magnificent photo. Seen well.

hey Alan !
Firstly, nice square format. It suits this composition very well. The image is visually balanced and well exposed too.
It also looks very 'true' (by that I mean it looks straight from camera)

Regarding the trees in the foreground, I guess they are okay - though I would also try to capture one without them and have both..

But in all a good effort and result.
Best regards, Daniel

Hi there Alan,
Long time no see, hows that friend of yours Alli ? Havent seen her on here for a little while.. have you both run off together..LOL..

Jokes aside...what a beautiful image of Seattle, I like the light on the buildings, and the trees frame the photo well.
The mountain in the back ground just makes it..

Good work.

Kind regards
Dawn.

I think you are right about the trees, they definitely add a natural frame to the image, and what an image! The sun set reflecting on the buildings is just lovely, and the Mt. Rainier in the bg is a real treat. Lovely work Alan, thanks for sharing.
