Cleveland style factory houses built facing east on west 106th street,
I used to work in a huge warehouse on w106th street filled with soot & dust & crumbling bricks, the neighborhood half broken down between streets named madison avenue & lorain avenue, now what posse strikes white t-shirted poses on tree-leafed street corners, these 4 houses 106 blocks west of downtown Cleveland are in good shape, their plebian plastic-ness, their brick-less-ness, their lawn a mere patch,
4 porch models on the same house from the same builder who left Cleveland for the suburbs & died with the same lung cancer drinking concentrated alcohol beneath leafy backyards on soft plots of grass toasting better west side times in 1957...

the HPP is the black stamping background to contrast the houses...

Hi Ben! I like your black BG pp work. It's effective in showing this typical architecture in America.
TFS,
Freddie :)

I like the way you've isolated the houses here, Ben. You've succeeded in creating a very bleak look, especially with the snow on the porch roofs, the power lines intersecting the scene, and the long shadows of the porch railings.

I grew up in Cleveland - well, Parma to be exact - so know these houses well. Great job capturing the "look".

Ben,
I have to disagree, the BG makes this look a bit strange. No sky? It must have been "blown".
The POV is fine but the BG makes it look like a horror film. That's fine if thats what you intended. Why do you think you needed a black background to contrast the houses? This isn't a horrble image or anything, it just had more potential.
Scott
