This elegant bird was stalking tiny fish in this artifical lake in Golden Gate Park and ultimately gave me this most graceful of poses against the water.

It amazes me how animals evolve in such interesting way, i.e., with such long necks and fine thin legs.

ringrazie signore Gru!

Muito bela! I love the reflection on the water and the white colour of the bird :) well done

Hi Richard, beautiful shot! I think I would have went for 'thirds' here for this subject and it would have been better presented. The focus is awesome and the clarity is perfect. TFS.

Not only birds evolve in an interesting way, Richard... where did we evolve from ? ;o)).
Also, don't get those thin legs wrong... they're quite strong!
I like the way you captured this white heron, its pose is good. Looks like he spotted a fish right there!
Technically I think there's room for improvement. The white of the heron has a blue cast, for instance. Also, you could have cloned out the bright spot near the bottom, it's a bit distracting. Finally... I think you oversharpened a bit (there's a slight halo around the "bottom part" of the heron's beak and neck, for instance). Try downsizing in a couple of steps, sharpening only after the final step, and ease off on the radius and strength controls...
TFS.
