| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I was treated tonight to the privilege of getting extraordinarily close to a group of sandhill cranes. At first, they grew vociferously conscious of my presence, but after a time, they settled down and eventually walked right by the short dock where I stood.
It seems incredible that they have come so close to the main entrance this year of the Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve. In times past, I've seen a single sandhill near the outer boundaries of the sanctuary, but never so many near at hand. I've posted another close-up on TN, for those interested, of a solo bird: In the Domain of the Sandhill. |
