[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I wanted to create a "painting-like" photo that would express my creative love for the arts. It still needed to look like a real photograph, but needed to be painterly enough without actually shooting a painting.

Setup:
Dried poppy stalks and eucaliptus twigs arranged in a tiny vase on a living room table. Backlit partially by daylight from a window and by simple desk lamp. Thin textured paper hang from a straw in front of the plant almost touching it. Photographed in b&w mode.

Equipment:
Olympus C-4000Z 4MP digital camera. Velbon tripod. SM card.

Postprocessing in PS 7:
- cropped & resized
- adjusted levels & contrast
- applied golden duotone tint
- sharpened
- added border & frame

Hi Nella,

Very creative! Your process was clever. It reminds me of a piece of wood that has an image burned into it. Your pp work is fantastic!

A really nice effect you have achieved here with the paper producing lovely textures in this colour and the way that light has revealed this silouette on tha paper like a charcaol smudge is just exquisite.I really like this.I have recently been scanning in, using transparency scanning setting on my flatbed, different types of thin hand made papers that I have collected on my travels for use as masks and textures in my photos. It is going really well but I never thought to try something like this.Is the table you have used fot this shot glass?as I don't know how you have achieved no silouette at the base.

you are very creative Nella,
your works are so unusual
this one is very beautiful, great coposition
