[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was the only model available for this shot as I was there alone. I had found this big piece of culvert just laying above ground out in the desert and I thought this would make an interesting backdrop for a portrait, but I was the only model that I had to shoot, so this is the portrait that I took. The culvert was very dark inside compared to the bright sunlight outside. There is the one strip behind me on the far right that has the outside background completely blown out. The bright spot on my calf is the sun shining through a hole in the culvert.

This is a scan of an 8X10 Black & White print from 35mm B&W T-Max film, all processed in my darkroom ten years ago. PS7 PP includes adjusting curves, spotting the print with the cloning tool, converting to RGB and warming up the tones a little to match the paper that this had been printed on, using the sharpening filter before resizing for TL.

Great self portrait. The lines of the culvert make a great bg. I have a hard time finding models too, and unfortunately end up using my ugly mug lol!
