[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Just playing around with exposure during storm. Shot from side of porch with tripod. 25 seconds (tripod must!) and f 5.6 which seems best for lightening when locking at 100 ASA. Did brackets between 10 and 30 seconds. 25 seemed to allow light from lightening to give exposure to area, but not too bright. Also green area to far right is street light and yellowish area bottom right is light spilling from inside garage on cars. The rest of light on cars came from other flashes in sky during 25 seconds. Shot after dark as the storm came up So house across street has light on inside. . Kept under cover of porch for saftey and keeping rain off camera. Minimal contrast and sharpening in Photoshop.

Hi Skip,
The power lines help to cut a diagonal across this frame, separating the storm from "civilization". Blues and purples on top contrasted with the warmer colors below . . . I love the visibility and the warm glow you were able to achieve.
Take care,
Karen
