Ok, this Roman numeral thing is starting to bug me ... it's ok for the small numbers but starts to get annoying ...

Anyway. Next in this series of Diana, and what a lovely natural model she is!

Quite a lot of processing here to get the "dreamy-perfect" effect I wanted - boosted contrast, boosted saturation. Used magnetic selection tool and copied Diana to a new layer, then brightened, desaturated and washed-out the background before flattening the image again.

Used some paintbrush and clone to touch up the skin textures.

As always, thoughts, comments or suggestions are welcomed!

Always hated roman numerals myself when I had to do them but they are nicer to liik at than normal #'s.

Hi Rew,
Another very well produced high key portrait from you. I can't say much more, I can't criticize it at all. You show her as a very attractive woman, what more could you ask?
Keep them coming,
Pete.

She looks natural with one exception: she is kind of.. flying due to that the whole BG is almost pure white;
as to Roman numbering system - yesterday, in the town I temporarily stay in, I saw the local Town House, renewed in A.D. MMVII,
that means its overhaul has just been completed ;-) long way in front of you!!!

Hello Rew.
Excellent portrait picture of this beauty.
Can see you spent a lot of time arrancing it all.
Perfect result.
Big smiley from Jan

rew,

she is a beauty.. very natural and of course you did a good shooting her.. the skin complexion is soft and the lighting is great... and the background is great too... is it not hard to shoot in a white background?

ciao

broclay

Hello Rew,

Another wonderful job with this beautiful lady.
Congratulations!

I love first all the detail on her face, just how crisp it is, the way her features just glow and the contrasts on it are perfect. I was going to say, I love how bright and washed out the background is, making just a clean white space to focus on Diana. Her expression and pose definitely evoke daydreaming, I would know I daydream a lot, haha. But what I also really like, are the nice soft highlights you've achieved (yet again) on the skin, especially the forearms, and hands, and of course the face. Good shallow depth of field that emphasizes the focus on her face and forearms, and the legs and feet are perfectly out-of-focus, not too much, so that we can still make out their shape and pose to indicate how she is laying on her belly, daydreaming. Considering you had her dark hair in here, coupled with a bright white background, you've metered this well to get details on her hair. Very expressive and effective reflections of light in her eyes, they are so alive. I think it's interesting how you framed this so that the negative space is mostly on the right side, while her gaze is towards the left. Even though the traditional "rules" of photography might say that you should have the negative space at the left, because her gaze is to the left, I think what you did (and what Diana did ;) ) works here. Because the framing makes one wonder what Diana is looking at or thinking about. One little suggestion: maybe you could burn and highlight just a tiny bit where Diana's left foot and toes do not blend in in tone with the foot behind it. Does that even make any sense? :p
Really great point of view though at her eye-level so that we identify with her. Nice simple white thin frame. TFS!

Rew

Where is the Sea ? hehehe... Great Capture Bro, If you can put some objects like shells or lemonade it will give more story.

Thank you for sharing

Ben

Hi Rew. The other critiques cover that part well. I just like what we see here through your lens. Nice work. Murray.

Beautiful portrait of a beautiful lady. The pose is great, with that far away look in her eyes the viewer just has to wonder what she is thinking of and why she has the start of a smile - not quite the Mona Lisa but the same idea!
Thanks for sharing
