Hi Jan,
I saw this windmill on a shot of Hans, now I see this sunny and wonderful shot here from you - and I have never seen it in real - and I visit Haarlem every year!!! I have to be ashamed - but I know every single shoe and clothes-shop there - and the words opruiming and korting ;-) Haha! And I heard a song on Slam FM: I'm from Haarlem. Do you know the song? And the radio station Slam FM is also good, I heard it all the time. So thanks for the shot - I like it, bye and greetings

A small note on Molen the Adrian in Haarlem:
It is a smock mill, a wooden towered mill, built in 1778 on the foundations of an ancient defensive tower near the centre of town. Owing to its scenic location on the Spaarne river and its great height De Adriaan was one of the most striking features of Haarlem for centuries until the dramatic end to its existence in 1932 when the windmill burnt to the ground. Through the efforts of many local citizens The Adriaan has now been rebuilt. Seventy years after the fire Haarlem's skyline, dominated by the Bavo Church, once again includes De Adriaan's spinning sails.
It can be visited Wednesday / Thursday / Friday 13.00-16.00 hours, Saturday / Sunday 10.00-16.00 hours.

De Adriaan - die heeft Hans ook al eens gevangen en hoe weet ik dat? omdat onze zoon Adriaan heet.
Jan, wat is Nederland ook vreselijk mooi. Als je het aan buitenlanders laat zien dan besef je het pas goed.

Hello Jan,
this is a real stunner. Great clouds and dramatic sky with superb clarity and sharpness. The colours are well saturated and the composition is just right to render a beautiful panorama of a beautiful water sport.
