Serra do Alvão, situada entre Vila Real e Mondim de Basto, 1350m do seu ponto mais alto.
Na diversidade da sua flora podemos encontrar grandes manchas de carvalho e de pinhal, como é o caso da foto.Nas árvores do canto superior direito, podemos ver pinheiros destinados para a recolha de resina.
Os resineiros, golpeiam a casca e colocam um recipiente na parte inferior do golpe para a recolha da resina, de tempos em tempos é necessário preceder a novo golpe. A mancha branca que vemos no tronco dos pinheiros é o resultado da sucessão de golpes ao longo dos anos. A resina recolhida é destinada à industria química, para e elaboração, por exemplo de colas.
Embora possa parecer “violento” para os pinheiros, o resultado é francamente positivo, pois é uma mais valia da floresta, uma forma de sustento para as populações rurais locais e é uma forma natural (esta prática remonta até ao tempo dos romanos) de obtenção de matéria-prima para este tipo de indústria, habitualmente poluente.

In the diversity of its flora we can find great spots of oak and pine tree plantation, as it is the case of the photo.
In the trees at upper right side, we can see pines destined for the resin retraction. The resin collectors, hit the rind and place a container in the inferior part of the blow for the retraction of the resin, from time to time are necessary to precede the new blow. The spots white that we see in the trunk of pines is the result of the succession of blows to the long one of the years. The collected resin is destined to the chemical industry, for and elaboration, for example of glues.
Although it can seem "violent" for the pines, the result is frankly positive, therefore it is one more value of the forest, a sustenance form for the local agricultural populations and is a natural form (this practical retraces until the o time of the Romans) of raw material attainment for this type of industry, habitually pollutant |
