[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
My 1st post, and inspired by other food shots, here are some home made candies. The story, my grandmother (born 1897) had some friends (who were sisters) in the 30's who survived by making candies for special events. The recipe was very much guarded. My grandmother was given the reicpe under the condition she would not share it until their deaths. Since then this recipe was made for family celebrations. For my 38th b'day my mother made them. I know the recipes includes lots of sugar eggs and insane amount of Port wine (quite a bit of it for the makers of the candy).
Cropped the photo sharpened, and played with saturation, ate the candy after taking photo.

They look delicious, and what a lovely story behind it. The candies are in good focus, and the shine on them makes them even more enjoyable. The silver foil cups really adds a touch of class. Well done.

Bem, parece delicioso e então com vinho do Porto...hum! Adorava saber a receita, a gula faz um pouco parte da minha vida e adoro doces! Fizeste um bom trabalho fotográfico, escolheste um bom enquadramento e os doces ficam muito bem com o brilho que lhes aparece em cima do flash!

Já agora, reparei que falas português muito bem, já viveste em Portugal?

What a bright and mouth-watering composition Chritina! Thanks for sharing your family`s secret recipe...well visually at least :-)

Looks delicious and what a nice heritage to pass on from daughter to daughter. I like the image, it's bright and colorful, the icy coating is really well captured.

"Lots of sugar eggs and isane amount of Port wine" sound like a fine starting point for a recipe, Cristina ;-) A delightful shot of those yummy-looking candies. They look really precious, all glazed and glittering. A very nice and colorful image, and a fine note about family tradition.

These are certainly bright and cheery! I like the composition and the harsh highlights add a sense of celebration to this image.

Wow, custard candies - bonbons (?). We call it yema in the Philippines. We also have our own recipe that's also quite guarded. The photograph is so inviting (colors, frame fill etc.) but especially because of the lighting. The lighting emphasizes that sugar caramel glaze coating - to make the picture mouth watering. I like the haphazard arrangement of the candies to show they are freshly made and just came from the kitchen. Rekindles the eager child in all of us.
