[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
"Bellis perennis is a common European species of Daisy, often considered the archetypal species of that name, though many other related plants share the name; to distinguish it from other daisies, it is sometimes qualified as Common Daisy, Lawn Daisy or occasionally English daisy. It is native to western, central and northern Europe. The species is widely naturalized in North America, where it is considered an invasive weed." - Wikipedia

Well, my mother happens to be a particular fan of this "weed," and as such she actually has a few in her flower garden.

I took this picture back in June, and it has been on my desktop (in rotation) since. I am a fan of the way the heads seem to greet the sun, and the immediate falloff of the background. Big fan, big fan.

PP was the crop for my desktop aspect ratio (then resized for Trek) and a bit of sharpen. Besides that, as always, untouched.

I actually grabbed this shot while on the way out of the house, headed to dinner. I saw the way the sun was falling on the flowers in the early evening, and I had to get them. At first, my mom was rather irritated that I was almost making us late for dinner, but in the end she liked the way the pictures came out. I do too.

The textures in this are really superb!
And the composition (on the thirds with a good lead-in line) and colours are excellent. This is pro quality.

Really great simplicity. Nice colors, POV, off-centering composition, and lighting.
