| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I was inspired by a Russian Photographer Yuri Anderegg who has produced numerous award wining black and white photographs. He manages to get extreme contrast but without losing too much detail. He used to heat his undeveloped film with a blow torch to get a grain on the film which also helped enlarge the contrast of the final shot. Anyway; I was really impressed and have been working hard and trying to enhance my black and white shots. I am getting there but like all photographers am, still learning and would appreciate any advice re this shot. Any comments and advice that will help improve my shots are always appreciated.
Regards

Hi Andy,
I like this, can't think of many ways to improve it myself.;-)
Possibly increasing the brightness a tiny bit would give a little more detail around the middle right of the photo, around the end of the shed which is currently completely dark. But I like the composition and sharpness, and the DoF is excellent. Very atmospheric shot.
Cheers, John.
Very often when you put a dark picture online people start saying that it's too dark... but I like this here. Very often I'm fond of darker pictures, I'm a dark person ;)
You got a nice composition and great point of view. Looks lovely in black and white.
Well done
David
Probably would have gone for even more contrast myself Andy.
Your composition is excellent though, have I seen this before in colour?
Nice to see you posting again though.
cheers
Peter

Hello, Andy.
Wonderful! Fantastic atmosphere and gorgeous textures and reflections. I can't honestly think of a way of improving it - I'm not convinced that lightening it or increasing the contrast would do it any favours at all. I just love it as it is!
Excellent!
Kind Regards,
John.
