Who can say . . . how the amazing variety of plants and flowers evolve into such strange and wonderful presences on the globe. Let's just hope we don't destroy them with humankind's hyper activity and population!

Location: Arboretum in SF Golden Gate Park

Significant cropping and slight focusing. This flower is actually quite small and was only a very small portion of the photo. In returning to the garden last weekend, I saw a relative of this flower in yellow, but didn't have my camera with me. :O(

Though the picture is quite small, I like the simplicity of the shot. Nice colors and I've never seen a flower like it.
