The lighthouse of the marine harbour city Hellevoetsluis as an answer to Perry Hooter's light house. Here the top
Hellevoetsluis was an inportant marine harbour and many of the fleets left here for famous battles and journeys.

King William (husbant of Queen Mary Stuart)left here with an army of 14000 Dutch and 7000 others in 1688 to England. The armada of William was four times as big as the Spanish armada of 1588! Have a look in the workshop!!!! My picture was taken from the bottom left.
Here is an old painting from the same spot. painting Greenwich museum

Here is a light house on the ship Noordhinder in one of the harbour of Hellevoetsluis.

Hoi Hendrik,
Een erg mooi standpunt had je voor deze foto.
Goede compositie en realistische kleuren ! De note bevat interessante linkjes.
groeten,
Joop!

Hello Hendrik !

I will be back on the docks tomorrow morning after two weeks of vacation. I will also be on duty as well weeknights.

The place is surely more quiet than in 1688 (^_^). Cool composition ,leading our eye to follow the canal to the lighthouse and finally to the sea.
Well done,
Robert
