A cluster of very old trees are left at original spot when landscape works are carried out at this town square extension project.

It appears enticing to me as the silhouette against the evening sunset makes it interesting and a lovely sight, and it looks a little like Ballet dance posture with the branches folding outward.

Play a little music, do a little ballet dance routine and we have a show...(imagination & fantasy).

My believe that the trees are not well taken care of, as the leaves are not flourishing. It will take a good gardener to bring them back to vibrant life.

In the mornings and evenings, this park is popular for residents to walk, exercise, or simply to sit and enjoy the view.

This site used to be the General Hospital, which was built by government on a piece of land donated by philantropist Mr Lau King Howe read here. It was named as Lau King Howe Hospital in memory of him.

Eventually, the hospital was too crowded and unable to cope with demand, and later relocated to a new site. The land is now converted into a park, at where the Igan River meets the Rajang River.

This hospital brought back memories (time for story).

At age 4, I had a fall and the skull was injured badly. After a day of hospitalised at Lau King Howe Hospital, I was too scared and lonely and extremely homesick. When the guard was not paying attention, I slipped out of the hospital and found my way home by walking on foot (amazing I could find the way). Lucky I was allowed to stay home when they found out.

Happy viewing and reading!

Cheers
Bill

Hi Bill,
Great capture with nice colours and composition.

TFS.......Filiz

wonderful shot
the blue is great and also is the silhouette of the tree
it maybe needs a little more space at the right and at the top

A very beautiful picture. Fantastic color and I like the shape of the trees. Interesting title and informative note. I like the story from your childhood:) Thats very sweet. Thanks, Karen

Hello Bill lovely colour tones and nicely composed rgds Necip.

Hello Bill, your title says it all; well observed, they do indeed have the pose of ballet dancers.
I thought that cropping the space might work here, but after consideration I think that you composed it very well.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Nice work Bill!
You've done an excellent job with the long exposure - beautiful saturation in the sky. It's very nicely composed too, good placement of the trees' silhouettes.
A poignant note, also.
