Mt. Baker - Snoqualmie National Forest, Washington, USA

The Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest extends more than 140 miles along the western slopes of the Cascade Range from the Canadian border to the northern boundary of Mount Rainier National Park.
The Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest contains many scenic and historical points of interest. Mountain tops gradually rise from 5,000 to 6,000 feet on the south end of the forest to 7,000 to 8,000 feet in the north. Two tall volcanoes, Mount Baker and Glacier Peak, tower thousands of feet above the adjacent ridges. The Forest is home to more glaciers and snow fields than any other National Forest outside Alaska.

The large population factor, coupled with easy road access, makes the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest one of the most visited National Forests in the US.

I spotted this lonely snowboarder on Mt. Baker in August! Surprisingly there was still lots of snow in this time around.

Hi again Iliana!
Good picture. Strange with so big trees combined with old snow in august! I like the composition with the snowboarder in lower right and the peak between the trees. The color of his cap is also important, to get the viewers attention.
The snow is "burned out". May be it is possible for you to get some more texture in it from the original - if you darken highlights or something like that?

Hello Ileana,

I agree with Norte about the blown out white. It is not easy to shot snow as it's easy to blown out. therefore, if you have time to take of this with multiple expossure, then it will be better. A use of filter is also good to overcome the white

Good evening Ileana
You have there a very good subject and a very nice composition, a mixture of summer and winter. The summer part is splendid with the evergreens, the snowborder and his red bonet. The mood of lonelyness is also present. The winter side of eh composition presents a little problem. The snow to the left seems burnt, that is overexposed. On myscreen, the snow extends up to the sky and mixes with the clouds. Photos with snow are very difficult, I think you should have made the reading on the snow before reframing and shooting. Bracketting would have been good too. I mean to be constructive despite it is a very good picture.
